It appears (or not in this case...) that the 'invisible series' phenomenon is in full swing again as the GRGP2 has failed to resurface for a few weeks.
December time is a time when a series could easily fail, especially with the more popular and well-known names (GRASCAR, GROWL and others besides) are taking the forum by storm.
If series were spread out throughout the year a little bit more, maybe there could be more all-year-round entertainment for us all, which is definitely all the better for everyone concerned... :)

Series Focus: GeneRally Rookie Championship
URL: GRC Site Link
RSC: Thread Link
GPF1: Forum Link
Whats it about?
It is for the new drivers of the future to take on others in identical cars to see who may be a future GR winner at international level.
Whos it for?
It caters specifically for those who have either not won a series title or not competed at an international level yet. Others who have achieved a lot at international level are specifically banned from competing.
Whats the car?
A special model of car, PM JTC, is a single seater for the rookies to learn basic skills in cornering, speed and technique.
Race?
More of a 5km sprint is the norm, as to help keep the interest going in the racing for the new folks.
Not necessary for this series.
Open to all?
Again, if you are new to GR Competitions online, this is the place to debut.

The Competitive side of GeneRally
Hello Everyone, I'm Crowella, and Today I have decided to do a basic run through of the Competitions currently Available.
Everyone knows that there are competitions for GeneRally, some very Good, Some not so good, but altogether, their aim is the same, to get a competitive side in Generally. In many ways, not all GR players compete in competitions, but some just adore them.
GeneRally makes a treat of racing AI and friends/family at your computer, but wouldn't you rather race people around the world. Well, this is what the Competitions are for, the only Realistic way to race GR against other people.
I've done this as a Guide to some current competitions worth noticing. Most are in Process, but will still allow signup's none the less. I have selected 6 regonised ones currently known in the RSC GeneRally community.
The competitions are ranked on how good I thought they are. So lets start from the bottom to the top:
Generally F1.tk Link Here (In Process)
Now, This competition is still running at the current moment, and has gone with a large succession. Unfortunatly, It has limited positions, and has had some conflicts. But none the less, Is quite good. Good for F1 Fans, But "Soltys" GPF1 outclasses it too much to even make the contest even, so therefore, I think 3.5/5 Stars does it.

VHCS World Tour Link Here (In Process)
This competition (Virtual Harm Challenge Series) is another Track using Real Life Tracks R/C Tracks. It also uses a good group of cars. It seems like a good competition, but only 7 Attend at the most, so that means something must be wrong there. 3.5/5 for this sounds right.

JFF Hotlap Competition Link Here
This Competition is "Just For Fun". A Competition where you can just hop in and Drive. It's very simple, basically like Qualifying. It's simple and a one of a kind at the moment, but Some people prefer proper racing. 4/5

Super 1 Karting Link Here (In Process)
A new competition, based on The use of Karts, again, one of a kind, and it deserves a load of credit, using a mix of both fictional and R/L tracks, and proper Karts. Very fun mix, and very worthy of getting 1st, but limited to driver attendances. 4.5/5 is the Rating

GTCC Link Here
Another new competition, the "Generally Touring Car Championship" similar to VHCS, but not R/C related, but more so based on the WTCC series. It hasn't started yet, so I can't really give it too much credit yet. 4.5/5.

So... The Winner Is...

GR MotoGP Link Here(In Process)
GeneRally Moto Grand Prix Season 2 is an awesome new competition using the Current Moto Grand Prix Schedule and Bikes. Very well placed rules and the website is Stunning. It's a treat to drive in and Deserves the 5/5.

So That concludes it, I know, that wasn't entirley all The competitions, but these ones are the most regonised in the GeneRally community.
It's your call on what to choose.

GTCC: The series to be in?
This week has seen the unveiling of Crowella's latest series to take place, the GeneRally Touring Car Championships. Within that week, we have seen many submissions for teams and drivers.
This does show that a relatively new series, with good management, a good selection of cars and some simple rules can add up to a popular series.
Diversity is championed here, with six different cars available. That is not as many as VHCS, but a driver in that series can only race that car once. Not the greatest of ideas, as people might take a liking to a certain car, but it is different nevertheless.
GTCC's idea is simple. A similar idea to the real-world WTCC 2005, on some of the world's top tracks. This appeals to many as they tour the world, driving against the best in the world of GR (and me too ;)), with a reward of some kudos and JPEG trophies. Now name someone who DOESN'T want a JPEG trophy..?
Again, here is the link for GTCC: GTCC
Next week, some series reviews and reports of GR series around the world.

GR Top Tuners Series: Another idea
Just a typical mad GRSR idea...
A series for the tuner AND racer.
Idea is, YOU design the car. Can look as aerodynamic a shape as you want. Totally open. Cabrio or tin top? You decide.
Car settings? This is where it gets interesting. YOU also make the settings.
Um Dave, I hear you all cry, thats insane.
Well, the idea is, you tune your car to how you drive the course. OK, weight has to be set, maybe the alternative surface grip too, but the rest is up to you. Do you drift that little bit more for a sliding drive? Or a slight understeer characteristic to place the car on the perfect line?
Car settings can be changed in between rounds. At each round, the car files that everyone uses could make a carset of the cars that raced in that round.
It's a very alternative idea to the traditional "You must race this car" series. You are the team, the driver and the constructor.
Sound like fun? Then let's see some action on this idea. Personally can't wait, myself...

Le Mans, small scale style...
JTarJ, the busy bugger, has organised YET another compo for us GR hungry racers.
Based on the biggest endurance event in the world ever, the Le Mans 24 Hours has made many a legend over the years in real life. Will GR have a few legends created for itself in this, the battle of the biggest and prestigious cars on the planet.
Let's have a look at what was said on the thread's first post:
JTarJ:
The track will be Ted's Le Mans I think, like in 2003 so, for categories, I think to make like in 2003, LMPs and GTs, the cars will be real actual cars I think (Audi R8 or Toyota GT one for LMP, Porsche, Aston Martin DBR9 for GTs for example), cars will have the same values so don't rush in the R8, it will be not faster than a little Courage or Panoz
a first calendar is fixed :
June 24th : Sign up locked ; Le mans 24 hours start
June 25th : 1st stint (100 laps normally - 75-80 laps at least), deadline at 0:00 Central European Time (Paris, Madrid, Bruxelles, Rome....)
June 26th : Posting results of 1st stint ; 2nd stint (100km normally - 75-80km at least) deadline at 0:00 Central European Time (Paris, Madrid, Bruxelles, Rome....)
June 27th : Posting results of 2nd stint ; 2rd stint (100 laps normally - 75-80 laps at least) deadline at 0:00 Central European Time (Paris, Madrid, Bruxelles, Rome....)
June 28th : Postings results of 3rd stint and final results
So this event will take part 1 week after the real one, because I will have all my time for organize the race (ahh holidays)
So a complicated schedule to keep up with, but nevertheless a rewarding one for all racers.
GeneZine of course will run a car under the GeneZine Timberwolf banner that will be contesting in GRASCAR season 5 and also tested in season 1 of the GR Rookie Championship.
What cars are involved? Well, they are still provisional at the moment, but bet your bottom dollar on the Audi R8 and the Corvette turning up.
Sign up will commence soon, so far the testing miles are being completed before the big announcements and proper releases of files begin.

GCF Forums are not really busy just now for GRASCAR, with messages trickling in every couple of days at least. So really not much to update on in the off-season.
It appears that GeneZine Timberwolf "might" (I stress the might bit) have secured a third driver for next year. Because of the delicate nature of the negotiations at stake, we can't name or comment on the driver in question. We do add that he is experienced in GRASCAR driving and will not be a rookie.
Monthly GRASCAR File of the Week goes to Drivable Go by, um, I don't think I'll attempt the name. The track is tight but fun and fast. Go try, now at RSC Forums.

Practice makes perfect...
So, haven't driven round an oval for ages I haven't. But for now, I have a break from the GRASCAR running.
Plans concerning me and GRASCAR have been 'Grugh! Later...' projects, so I have decided to get off (on?) my fat lazy bum and do some laps out there. Sometime this week.
I will practice at Myura Speedway, possible home for GTS or GRASCAR racing soon. I am looking forward to it, as I will be creating my racing livery.
Which brings me to a question. I imagine the GRASCAR.car can't be edited, but what about the colours of the cars? Are they editable and still legal. My head says no, but one can't be too sure.
Reason I ask is I would like to do my promotional livery 'Terminator', which involves two shades of silver with red headlights. A deadly combo in XCars of past, I have neglected using the colour scheme over time and want to use it again.
Okay, bit off subject there, so I ask you guys what are you doing to prepare for S5? Full out test sessions all day every day, or are you like me, doing nothing for now? Let us know.

Colour scheme way too familiar? Have a go at something new. Plenty of combinations to be around that aren't used...
